Any opportunity to check out Mike Mignola’s work pre-publication is like getting a bottle of fine bourbon on Christmas day…also, that bottle has been padded with dollar bills instead of packing peanuts. Not trying to rub it in, just really excited.
If you like RPGs, medieval motifs and monster hunting, then you’re in for a treat. The Witcher is a comic based on a PC hack-and-slash RPG (which was based on a book series), and is a recent addition to the Dark Horse Comics lineup. This looks bodacious.
Soooo it’s February, which means that comic, horror, sci-fi and other pop-culture convention schedules are kicking off for the year. Spring is con season in my neck of the woods–there’s a humble page dedicated to this on the menu above–and for many that means strapping on the ‘ol cosplay boots, packing some snacks and beverages into a mostly-empty bag (gotta have room for merchandise), and setting out for the wild costumed yonder.
OK, this isn’t so much a review as it is a short yet gushing man-crush piece, because Mike Mignola.
